Problem:

XenData Archive Series software may fail due to the operating system running out of paged memory. The symptoms may vary but typically a system event log entry will indicate that  there are not enough system resources available.

Microsoft confirm that there is a limitation of Windows 2003 and 2000, as described in Microsoft knowledge base article 304101.

Memory Pool Usage can be monitored using the Microsoft Poolmon Utility and can be used to collect information as described in Microsoft knowledge base article 177415. This is available at http://support.microsoft.com/

Resolution:

Modify the registry to change the PoolUsageMaximum parameter as described in Microsoft knowledge base article 304101. This is available at  http://support.microsoft.com/

Warning:

Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Make sure that you back up the system before modifying the registry.

Applicable Versions:

All versions of Archive Series software.
