Scalar i2000 & i6000 Library-Specific Information

Supported Drives

HP LTO and IBM LTO drives are supported.  All drives in the logical library partition managed by XenData software must be of the same time and have the same firmware version.

Supported Vendor ID

Only the ADIC Vendor ID is supported. For the i2000 library, please use the the Library Management Console to select this ADIC option for the library partition that is to be managed by XenData software. For the i6000, please select the ADIC i2000 emulation mode.

Minimum Supported Firmware Level

The i2000 was certified using firmware 560A which is the minimum supported firmware level. If the firmware in your unit is at a lower level that this, please contact your library support organization for an upgrade.

Medium Changer Device Driver Installation

To install the XenData device driver

  1. Right-click on 'My Computer' and select 'Manage'

  2. Select Device Manager from the left pane and select 'Unknown Medium Changer' in 'Medium Changers' from the right pane.

  3. Right-click on the Device and select 'Update Driver.'   Click 'update driver' to launch the driver update wizard.

  4. When prompted 'Can Windows connect to Windows Update to search for Software?', select 'No, not at this time' and then click 'Next.'

  5. When prompted 'What do you want the wizard to do? 'Select 'Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)'   and then click 'Next.'

  6. Choose the 'Don't search.  I will choose the driver to install' option and then click 'Next.'

  7. Click 'Have Disk' and Browse to or enter the path '<boot drive>\Program Files\XenData\Drivers' and then select 'XenMC.inf.'   Click 'Open,' 'OK.'

  8. When prompted to Select the device driver, Scroll to and select the Manufacturer and the appropriate model and then select 'Next.'

  9. When the warning 'The software you are installing has not passed Windows Logo testing...' Click 'Continue Anyway.'   This completes the driver installation/update process.
