Storagetek Brand Equivalents

The Oracle Storagetek SL24 and SL48 are equivalent to the MSL2024 and MSL4048 and the information below is applicable.

Supported drives

The libraries are supported with LTO format drives. 

Supported Firmware

The minimum supported firmware levels are shown in the following table.  Earlier versions of firmware may result in an inability to import tape cartridges via the mail slot.

Supported by XenData Versions

The HP MSL2024, MSL4048 and HP8096 are supported by XenData Archive Series software version 4.00 and higher. However, version 4.51 or higher is recommended as a bug associated with cleaning cartridges is fixed in version 4.51.

Medium Changer Device Driver Installation

  1. Right-click on 'My Computer' and select 'Manage'.

  2. Select 'Device Manager' from the left pane and select 'Unknown Medium Changer' in 'Medium Changers' from the right pane.

  3. Double click on the device and select the 'Driver' tab.

  4. Click'update driver' to launch the driver update wizard, allow the wizard to connect to the Internet and click 'Next'. Select 'Install the software automatically' and again click 'Next'. When the wizard finished installing the device driver, click 'Finish'.
