PivotStor TL2000, TL4000 and TL8000 Library-Specific Information

Supported Drives

The libraries are supported with LTO format drives. 

Supported by XenData Versions

The PivotStor TL2000, TL4000 and TL8000 are supported by XenData Archive Series software version 5.00 and higher. A library specific DLL file is required and this may be obtained from XenData Technical Support.

Limitation

XenData Archive Series software supports use of the input/output mail slots for both importing and exporting tape cartridges. However, the multiple cartridge mail slots available with the TL4000 and TL8000 are fully supported for importing tape cartridges but only one tape cartridge can be exported at a time.

Medium Changer Device Driver Installation

To install the XenData device driver

1. Right-click on 'My Computer' and select 'Manage'

2. Select Device Manager from the left pane and select 'Unknown Medium Changer' in 'Medium Changers' from the right pane.

3. Right-click on the Device and select 'Update Driver'. Click 'update driver' to launch the driver update wizard.

4. When prompted 'Can Windows connect to Windows Update to search for Software?', select 'No, not at this time' and then click 'Next.'

5. When prompted 'What do you want the wizard to do? 'Select 'Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)'   and then click 'Next.'

6. Choose the 'Don't search.  I will choose the driver to install' option and then click 'Next.'

7. Click 'Have Disk' and Browse to or enter the path '<boot drive>\Program Files\XenData\Drivers' and then select 'XenMC.inf.'   Click 'Open,' 'OK.'

8. When prompted to Select the device driver, Scroll to and select the Manufacturer and the appropriate model and then select 'Next.'

9. When the warning 'The software you are installing has not passed Windows Logo testing...' Click 'Continue Anyway.'   This completes the driver installation/update process.
